Tesla introduces special discount for Model 3 Performance; releases new game in software update

Thanks to a new special discount offered by the automaker, buyers of the refreshed Tesla Model 3 Performance can now take advantage of the federal tax incentive even after loading up on options. The company has also released new games to its Arcade in its latest over-the-air (OTA) update.

If you want to purchase the Tesla Model 3 Performance, the good news is that you can now add options and still qualify for the federal tax credit, but with a condition. The company has begun offering a special discount program for this car and the Model X AWD, which will ensure that the final price does not exceed the limit.

Tesla enthusiast Ryan McCaffrey (@DMC_Ryan) shared the news of the discount on X (formerly Twitter), as received from Tesla. According to the screenshot of the message, buyers can add the premium paint option but must throw in Full Self-Driving (FSD).

Meanwhile, the offer is available for a limited time. However, the incentive is active on Tesla’s ordering page. When buyers select the FSD package, the Ultra Red Paint shows up as included. However, if FSD is not included, the paint option becomes $2,000.

For Model X buyers, adding FSD triggers the Seven Seat Interior option, but the latter costs $3,500 on its own. Bigger families will appreciate this option as it allows the electric SUV to accommodate more riders.

Buyers snapping up this incentives and existing Tesla owners will have new games to play after installing the company's latest software update. Tesla is adding new games to its Arcade.

According to Not a Tesla App, software update 2024.26.1 includes the Castle Doombad Classic game, which was released as a demo in December 2023.

However, only Teslas equipped with AMD Ryzen are eligible for this update.

Tesla has also updated the Battle of Polytopia by adding more features to a skin. The skin empowers players to call up demons from burial grounds and construct graves and crypts.

Vampire Survivor players will also get a whole new character, stages, and fighting weapons, among other things.

The update, however, covers more than just gaming. Tesla has added Amazon Music and new tools for parents to control their children’s interaction with the software. Other new features are a bar showing weather conditions, the ability to pre-arrange charging and pre-conditioning sessions, and a new way to navigate.

Tesla also included a new climate panel, which is still hidden. It has set Zoom meetings to automatically fill the entire screen and will reduce fan speed when a call comes through to reduce background noise.

Meanwhile, the update removes at least one feature, the YouTube music app, added in update version 2024.26.

Gaming is only enabled when the car is in park mode.
