This new feature will soon make your Tesla safer if you live in the US

Tesla cars are awesome, but the company is not resting on its laurels. The company is bringing a much sought-after and very practical feature to Tesla owners in the US to increase safety.

While Tesla introduces new features constantly to enhance the ownership experience, some regions have to wait before getting the same features. Adaptive headlights have been available on Teslas sold in Europe and other parts of the world, but the automaker is now bringing them to its local market.

Adaptive headlights are advanced light technology that enhances safety by improving visibility on the road. They are very useful at night or in other challenging driving situations.

Adaptive headlights work by separating the light beam into different parts and controlling them individually. This means the different sections can be turned off and on, and their direction and intensity vary based on the driving conditions.

The lighting system is controlled by a unit that processes information received from sensors, including the car speed, steering angle, camera feed, and sometimes GPS, based on the road's condition.

This means the car can light up only sections of the road the driver needs to see and avoid blinding other road users.

Tesla started adding matrix LED lights years ago but has gradually rolled it out. The company has enabled adaptive headlights through software updates, but North American Tesla owners have had to wait.

The Tesla Model 3 Highland, Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model S, and Tesla Model X (both from the 2021 model up) can have been approved to get the feature in Europe.

Tesla has obtained approval for its adaptive light system over in Canada but has held back from rolling it out in the country, likely waiting to get it certified in the US first. While the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) approved the tech two years ago, Tesla has been hampered by regulations of headlight functionality.

However, according to an X (formerly Twitter) post by Lars Moravy, Tesa's VP of Vehicle Engineering, the automaker is close to finalizing the feature.

Needless to say, the feature will only work with Tesla cars that have the enabling hardware.

However, no matter the version, the Dry Carbon Fiber Roof Spoiler is one of the best Tesla Model Y accessories you can get. The spoiler boasts a sleek appearance that enhances your car and improves aerodynamic performance. It is light but strong to ensure durability and high-speed stability.
